Laquey Student Council is proud to coordinate with Community Blood Center of the Ozarks to host a blood drive on November 30, 2020 at Laquey High School.
This blood drive is open to the public. Appointments are strongly encouraged to help us manage donor flow. Please call 417-227-5006 or visit www.cbco.org/donate-blood to schedule your appointment.
Photo ID and masks will be required.
High school students (age 16+) who wish to donate can sign up with Mrs. Marlin.
Our goal is to schedule at least 35 donors. If we collect 20 viable donations, CBCO will give our school a $500 scholarship!
Come out and help us make a difference in our community and school.
Contact Mrs. Marlin at kmarlin@laqueyhornets.us with any questions.
Laquey Administration and Counselors would like to have each family complete the survey at the link below.
This survey will assist us as we are working with our students and families.

In honor of "World Kindness Day," the Laquey Student Council would like to recognize Laquey 5th Grader, Michael Jones, for his inspiring random act of kindness. When Michael heard about the Student Council Thanksgiving Food Drive, he decided to use the birthday money he recently received to buy food donations for the food drive. It was more important to him that he help a family in need from our community than to spend his birthday money on himself. We hope Michael's random act of kindness will encourage everyone to do something nice for someone, not just for today, but every day.
The students and staff of the Laquey School District would like to thank all of our Veterans that are serving or have served our country. We have put together a virtual Veterans Day assembly and encourage you to take some time and watch it. Thank you and Happy Veteran's Day.

It is Red Ribbon week! Talk to your students about peer pressure and drugs.
Kids give into peer pressure because they want to fit in. They want to be liked and they worry that they may be left out or made fun of if they don't go along with the group. The best way to be prepared for when this happens is to have a good excuse/reason already practiced.
Conversation starter:
Guardian/Parent: How do you say "no" to peer pressure?
Student: I don't know, why?
Guardian/Parent: If you have an excuse or reason you are more likely to not do something you didn't want to do. Let's practice!
Drugs are illegal and dangerous.
I have to stay healthy for sports.
I am not putting bad stuff in my body.
Or what sounds easy for you?
